At 3 A.M., I Thought My Pregnant Daughter Was in Danger — The Truth Left Me Shaken

At 3 a.m., I woke to 18 missed calls and a text from my pregnant daughter saying, “Mom, help me.” I rushed to her apartment in panic — only to find she’d been asleep and hadn’t called at all.

Then I saw another message on my phone: “My baby’s fever won’t go down.” It included a photo of a crying infant. The number wasn’t my daughter’s.

When I called back, a terrified new mother answered. She was alone in the middle of the night and had accidentally dialed the wrong number while trying to reach her own mom.

I stayed on the line, helped calm her down, and talked her through what to do until she could reach a doctor.

With my own daughter expecting, that moment never left me. I still hope that mother and her baby are safe and healthy.
