About a year ago, my mother-in-law invited my husband and me to move in so we could save money and plan our future. Everything felt loving and stable—until I told her I was pregnant.
Her reaction was unexpected. She asked us to leave, and we did, heartbroken but respectful. Days later, when we returned for our belongings, we found the room transformed with a crib, baby clothes, and a blanket that read Welcome Home.
Through tears, she admitted her fear of change—not rejection—had driven her reaction.
Today, we’re living together again, healing as a family and preparing to welcome our baby with patience, love, and understanding.
