“Is This All You Could Afford?” — A Story About Love, Not Money 💔
I bought my grandson a simple dinosaur hoodie and a T-shirt that said, “You Are So Loved.”
When I gave them to him, my daughter-in-law looked at me and said, “Is this all you could afford?”
I left, heartbroken.
Days later, my grandson came to visit — proudly wearing those clothes. Then he asked me, “Grandma, did I do something wrong?”
That question shattered me.
After tears, hard conversations, and honesty, healing began. My daughter-in-law later admitted she didn’t know how to accept love unless it came with a price tag.
But love isn’t about brands.
It’s about moments. Time. Intention.
Years later, my grandson gave me a card that said:
“Thank you for seeing my heart.”
And that’s worth more than anything money can buy. ❤️
