My son-in-law sent strict hospital rules before my daughter gave birth. But Rule #9 made me call her doctor.
No surprise visitors. No kissing the baby. Only two people at a time.
Then I saw Rule #9:
“Do not discuss Claire’s previous pregnancy with any doctor or nurse.”
Claire had never been pregnant before.
When I questioned Jason, he said it was “a mistake” and hung up.
I called Claire’s doctor. His reaction was immediate: “Do not confront him. I’m calling your daughter.”
Soon, the truth came out. Jason had falsely told the doctor that Claire had suffered a previous pregnancy loss.
Later, Claire discovered the records belonged to Jason’s ex-girlfriend—not her.
He had been secretly rewriting Claire’s medical history to control what her doctors knew.
That was the moment Claire stopped doubting herself.
When Jason called again, she told him:
“You are not coming to the hospital.”
And for once, he had no rule to stop her.
