Four months after giving birth, I was exhausted, sleep-deprived, and struggling with my body. One night, my husband Ryan told me, “If you keep letting yourself go, I’ll eventually have to leave.”
His words hurt, but I decided to focus on myself. I started exercising, walking with my daughter, and slowly regained my confidence.
Months later, Ryan suddenly became affectionate again. Then a woman named Hannah contacted me and revealed she had been having an affair with him for six months.
Instead of confronting him, Hannah and I made a plan.
I took Ryan to the hotel where we spent our wedding night. During dinner, he opened a box containing divorce papers. Then Hannah appeared.
“You were right,” I told him. “I needed to change—but I didn’t need to change for you.”
Hannah and I walked away together.
