Johnny Mathis Announces Retirement Due to Health Concerns
Johnny Mathis, nearing his 90th birthday, is retiring from performing due to age-related memory loss, though his Voice of Romance tour will continue through the spring. His final show is set for May 18 in Englewood, New Jersey, with all performances beyond June 2025 now canceled. Over his extraordinary career, Mathis released more than 70 albums, sold over 350 million records, and earned honors such as a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Though he is stepping away from the stage, his legacy as “The Voice of Romance” will continue to resonate for generations.
