My son’s bride insisted on an all-vegan wedding menu. While I respected her passion, my barbecue-loving family felt left out. Quietly, I arranged for a small caterer to serve barbecue outside the hall, hoping to honor both traditions.
The wedding was beautiful, the vegan dishes elegant, but soon the scent of slow-cooked meat drifted in. Guests mingled between both menus, sharing food and laughter. At first, my daughter-in-law looked startled, but seeing everyone so happy, she softened.
