I was leaving the store when a woman stopped me to return my receipt. I thanked her and forgot about it.
Later that night, I noticed a message written on the back: “Check your back seat.”
My heart raced. Outside, I opened my car and found my missing wallet resting neatly in the back seat.
She must have seen it while I loaded groceries and left a note when she couldn’t catch me.
The relief faded, but the gratitude stayed. In a fast, distracted world, a stranger chose kindness—quietly, without recognition.
It was a reminder that small acts of humanity matter.
Sometimes, kindness is written on the back of a receipt.
