I never imagined that getting fired would teach me so much about my self-worth.
I lost my job so my boss’s daughter could take my position. Before I left, they gave me a pile of work and expected me to finish it in a week. When the deadline came, I told them I hadn’t even started. They said I was “obliged” because I was still being paid.
Soon after, the office fell into chaos. Missed deadlines, confusion, and the smooth workflow I had maintained for years disappeared.
A few weeks later, they called to apologize and asked me to come back. But by then, I had already found a new job — with slightly lower pay, but much more respect.
Sometimes losing a job is actually the beginning of something better.
