My DIL Said They Weren’t My ‘Real’ Grandkids—But the Message I Got a Year Later Broke Me

My daughter-in-law told me to stop loving her two children because they weren’t my “real” grandchildren. 💔

From the day I met them, I treated them like my own—holidays, birthdays, calls, unconditional love. But when she had a baby with my son, she said, “Now come see your real grandchild.”

I refused to choose. To me, all three are my grandchildren.

After that, she cut contact. A year passed with no visits, no photos—until her oldest texted me:
“Hi Grandma. I miss you.”

Now I’m torn between fighting to stay in their lives and risking more family conflict.

Family isn’t about DNA. It’s about love.
