I Came Home With Our Newborn… And My Husband Changed the Locks
After leaving the hospital with our two-day-old baby, I came home to find the locks changed.
My husband, Raymond, was inside — but he told me to leave. “I need space,” he said.
Shaking and exhausted, I went to my sister Vanessa’s house, convinced my marriage was over.
Twenty hours later, Raymond showed up, desperate. “It’s life or death,” he said.
When we got home, I saw the truth.
Fresh paint. Soft lighting. Safety rails. Blackout curtains. A bassinet by our bed. And a fully finished nursery.
He had secretly renovated the house while I was in the hospital so I could come home to a peaceful, safe space.
He didn’t need space.
He was making space — for us.
