Prince William and Kate Middleton met while studying at St Andrews University and initially became close friends. Their relationship reportedly changed after Kate caught William’s attention at a 2002 charity fashion show, and they later moved into an apartment together with friends.
A former university friend, Laura Warshauer, revealed another sweet detail: before they were officially dating, Kate once pretended to be William’s girlfriend to help him escape an awkward conversation at a party. She said their chemistry was obvious from the beginning.
Their romance eventually became public in 2004, and despite a brief split in 2007, William proposed to Kate in Kenya. They married at Westminster Abbey in 2011 and went on to welcome three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
