When our daughter Lily was six weeks old, my husband Tom returned to work travel. One night, I discovered an Instagram photo showing him having dinner with Eliza, his former university friend who had always disliked me.
Tom claimed he was on a business trip, but photos from his hotel confirmed the truth: he and Eliza were holding hands and kissing.
Instead of confronting him, I quietly opened a separate bank account, hired a lawyer, and planned my next move.
At our belated baby shower, I invited Eliza and surprised everyone with a slideshow. It started with sweet photos of Lily and our family—then suddenly showed Tom and Eliza together.
The room fell silent. Eliza fled, while Tom tried to explain.
I simply said, “Your actions already explained everything.”
That day, I began the divorce process. Soon after, Tom revealed that his parents had disowned him and removed him from their will.
He lost his marriage, his family’s trust, and everything he took for granted. I had Lily—and that was enough.
