After yelling, “Get your dirty hands off my baby!” at my mother in the hospital, I watched her quietly walk away without saying a word. She worked as a janitor, and my buried shame turned into a cruel mistake I instantly justified.
For four months, she never called or asked about her granddaughter. When I finally visited her house, it was completely empty—her furniture, photos, and belongings were all gone.
A week later, my phone rang. It was my mother. I answered, expecting an apology, but I had no idea the truth would change everything.
