Joe Biden Shares Health Update After Prostate Cancer Diagnosis — And Warns Others

Former President Joe Biden has provided an update on his prostate cancer treatment, saying the radiation therapy he received last fall “worked as intended.”

At 83, Biden thanked the doctors and medical staff supporting him and encouraged men to take prostate cancer screening seriously.

“Talk to your doctors. Ask the hard questions,” Biden said, stressing the importance of early detection.

The American Cancer Society recommends that average-risk men discuss screening around age 50, with earlier discussions for Black men and those with a family history. Biden was diagnosed with aggressive Stage 4 prostate cancer in 2025 after the cancer had spread to his bones.
