My wife texted me, “Pick me up from work now. It’s urgent.” I rushed over, worried something was wrong.
When she got into the car, she looked confused.
“I never texted you.”
The message had come from her number, but her phone showed no sent text, draft, or notification.
Then another message appeared on my phone:
“Congratulations! You’re going to be parents.”
My wife pulled out a small envelope containing the positive pregnancy test she had planned to surprise me with that night.
Neither of us had told anyone.
